We are offering small mat-based yoga classes. Yoga is known to improve flexibility, build strength, enhance balance, alleviate pain, reduce stress, improve sleep quality, increase bone density, improve posture, boost immunity, preserve cognitive abilities, maintain independence, foster well-being, promote social connection, bolster self-esteem, and provide enjoyment.
Chair Yoga is a style of yoga that focuses on the use of one main prop – a chair. The majority of the poses are carried out seated or standing (using the chair for support). It is an accessible approach to yoga that provides variations to the regular standing, seated and balancing postures that we know from other styles. This practice allows those with limitations such as age, mobility restrictions and injury to engage in a movement practice that is both enjoyable and meaningful. Although Chair Yoga may be seen as a gentler yoga practice, that is not necessarily the case – there are variations within the postures providing students with progressions and options that work for them.
It is suitable for ALL, not only those with restrictions. It is a fun practice which allows us to explore movement in a new way.
Yoga Nidra is also known as “yogic sleep” or effortless relaxation. It can be described as the conscious state between wakefulness and sleep, allowing deep relaxation and a sense of wellbeing through awareness and the welcoming of all that is present. A typical session lasts 45 minutes and you will be guided through several stages by the teacher throughout the session. Anyone can practice this – no yoga experience is required. It is ideal for people who struggle with letting go in meditation and is beneficial for people with sleep deprivation, anxiety and depression.
This class will teach you fundamental relaxation techniques such as breathwork and yoga to help you manage the stresses of day-to-day life. Through slow yoga movements and relaxing guided breathwork you will learn how to restore balance throughout the body and mind.
A graceful and energizing practice, linking breath with movement. This class has a dynamic element and may make you sweat. You will also build strength and flexibility in your arms, shoulders, core, glutes and legs. Adaptions available making this class suitable for beginners.
This is a great opportunity to press pause whilst you are taken on a journey of sounds set to the tone of alchemy crystal bowls, where healing vibrations, frequencies and sensations will weave their magic over and through you. The sound waves that ripple out from the crystal bowls draw your brain waves into a deep relaxation state.
The focus of this 45 minutes class is working on the smaller muscle groups, using bodyweight techniques and low impact moves. This class reduces the stress, load and impact of a workout without losing the intensity, burn or results. Designed to target muscles you never even knew existed. You will walk away feeling longer, leaner, and stronger.
This class will quieten the mind and help support your general health and wellbeing. It focuses on the Nervous System Response Technique, helping to reduce stress and calm the mind. By tapping into the parasympathetic system, this will help lower stress levels, improve focus and concentration, improve sleep while calming the mind and energizing the body focusing on various breathing techniques and meditation practices.
This is a calm and measured class. Begin with restorative yoga poses to allow every part of your body to go into deep relaxation. Enjoy the feeling of releasing tension. It is followed by a guided meditation to quiet the mind and expand your awareness. This beneficial session can help boost your immune system and balance your nervous system.
